The Grand Hotel is the place to be this Thursday night with Sian Evans making the journey back from Brisvegas to launch her new E.P “How Time Has Treated Thee” to her local friends and fans at Resonate. When alt rock luminaries like Tim Rodgers say things like “Sure Sian’s got a great voice, dexterous guitar chops, is a looker and charming as hell, but what about the positives” about you, you must be on to something! With her collection of stringed instruments, stomp boxes and other curios, Sian puts out a big sound for a one woman show. Sian hits the stage at 9.30
Playing the 8.20 slot at Resonate this week are crowd favourites Bosko & Honey. They never fail to hold both the patrons and staff at Resonate in total awe. Funny, irreverent, theatrical, virtuosic, if you have seen them before, you will most likely be addicted and back to catch their set, if you haven’t, as the man in the hat says – Do yaself a favour!
I have to say that one of the biggest pleasures for me hosting Resonate each week is discovering new acts for the first time and getting to see them under good lights and through a great sound system. Playing the opening 7.00pm set at Resonate this week is Ben Daniel making his Resonate debut. Ben has fastly made his presence known in cairns as a unique singer songwriter. With a diverse range of influences ranging between artists such as Jeff Buckley to Smashing pumpkins. Ben brings an eccentric writing style to the table and has promised an enjoyable show.
