Ok. Let’s address the real issue on everyone’s minds: When can we see real live underground music again? The kind of music that kicks your arse and makes your ears bleed. The kind of music that blasts the shit off your liver and the cobwebs from your brain. The kind of music that awakens your central nervous system and gives you that dose of adrenaline you haven’t had since Santa visited. The kind of music you drink large steins of German beer too and forget about the week that’s just passed.
YES! It’s the Night of the Living Bands! And it’s coming on Saturday August 8that the renowned German Club. Its All Ages and exclusive to just 100 punters!
New band on the block, Wasabi Barbie, are keen to share their effusive – anti – what you got? set to eager ears. They are so keen; they’ve invited fellow Cairns bands Meat Bikini and funky Phat Love to join them. Completing the nights acts are Cooktown hitters Barefoot Belles and Tablelands punks Chaotic Disturbance.
Night of the Living Bands! plays host to the Barefoot Belles new record launch. Recorded prior to shutdowns this is the first opportunity the Cooktown punks have had to celebrate the launch of their record. Their set is crammed with their new songs and the Belles are set to explode!
An added bonus to the night sees all the bands contributing a truckload of merch for a door raffle in aid of supporting families escaping from domestic violence. The prize includes T-shirts, CD’s, stickers, LP’s and more! All funds raised from the raffle will be donated Ruth’s Women’s Shelter. Based at Raintree’s, Ruth’s Women’s Shelter is a safe space where families in need of household and personal items are able to receive support in making positive changes in their lives.
These 5 bands are chomping at the bit to let loose and rip it up! This is one gig you don’t want to miss.
