Port Douglas band Benny And The Clones have just released a film clip for their track “Hold Your Head High” which chief spngwriter/guitarist and vocalist Ben Radford says is “an optimistic song about keeping one’s self on a steady positive track in life. It acknowledges the challenges of greed, deceit, fear and death but asks the person to challenge these with altruism, truth, love and urgency”
Getting a professional looking video clip made is no small undertaking for an indie band from Port Douglas “Our bass player Paul Shannon flew up from Melbourne to take part, and also help us launch our album. Dale Priem is on lead guitar. Ben Kuring on Drums. Ben Radford on Vocals/Guitar. We filmed it in an afternoon and a few of our good friends donated a their time to help set up lights, stage etc. We currently have it on a waiting list to be played on ABC’s Rage. That will be a small dream come true for an old Rage watcher” enthused Ben.
You may wonder about the dancing kid in the clip – Ben explains “We didn’t want the stock standard “band playing” style clip so we pulled a mate’s kid in to dance, in his own natural way, in front of us and to take centre stage. The dancing kid’s name is Dante and as you can see he knows how to party!”
Hold Your Head High features on Benny And The Clones just released self titled album “The Clones”.
