Beneath the clear and sunny winter skies of Townsville, North Queensland, Townsville Cultural Festival celebrates the depth and diversity of Australian culture with ever increasing jubilation. With this year’s festivities being the 20th anniversary, TC Fest is taking it to the next level. 80 performing groups, 30 food stalls, 5 days, 4 stages, One Love. From Wednesday August 13th to Sunday August 17th, local and international acts will take to Jezzine Park, offering everything from folk, rock and pop, to Indigenous Australian music, African drum troupes, South Sea Island, Middle Eastern and Latin dance groups.
Indulge your senses at 30 food stalls featuring food from all over the world. Experience Australia’s best and widest variety of culinary fare. From Asian delights to French crepes, Indian curries and gourmet German hotdogs, there’s so much variety that you can visit TC Fest on all five days and never eat the same thing twice. Enjoy your favourite treats guilt-free! Most food stalls at TC Fest are managed by community groups who are fundraising for community projects and activities throughout the year. By buying food at TC Fest, your contribution is assisting community groups all year round.
Explore over 80 island style huts housing TC Fest’s amazing selection of arts, crafts and information stalls. With the atmosphere of a Pacific village, these thatch grass roof huts are a bustle of activity offering arts, crafts, fashions and giftware from around the world. Meet artists creating their art and hosting workshops. Everything from basket weaving, live art installations, coconut husking and drumming circles. Non-stop performances and interactive workshops will also be running on the Global Village stage.
