Acclaimed flamenco guitarist Paco Lara together with ARIA nominated flamenco guitarist Damian Wright present a performance of spectacular flamenco guitar music at Tanks Arts Centre on Friday 3 May.
The event will be extraordinary flamenco guitarist Paco Lara’s (Spain) first performance in the area, and a welcomed returned for Australian born Damian Wright.

“It’s a beautifully unique location and attracts an audience that is second to none in terms of appreciation of musical culture.”

Embodying the unmistakeable Jerez style of flamenco guitar playing, Lara, from Jerez de la frontera, Spain, will perform the flamenco guitar in all its authenticity, culture and artistry.
Lara is equally as revered for his ability as an accompanist in the world of flamenco singing and dancing, having performed with Flamenco’s most significant artists including Beni de Cádiz, Juan Moneo “El Torta”, Miguel Flores “El Capullo de Jerez”, Tomasa Guerrero “La Macanita” and Mercedes Ruiz.
Damian Wright performs as both a soloist and with his ensemble Bandaluzia, selling out the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall and at festivals across the globe including the Rajasthan International Folk Festival in India and the Shanghai Fringe Festival in China.
The evening will also feature James Hauptmann on percussion.
