New music night In/Off Club kicks off the 2014 season with a stellar line-up of indie guitar’s, new folk and gritty blues with first show for the year.
In/Off Club line-up features sassy indie guitar darlings Hungry Lungs, new folk/rock maestro’s The Young Art, gritty blues/soul man Grim Tilla, and dark murder balladeer Black Friday.
Hungry Lungs are a three piece project that formed in mid 2012 with current members Grum, Berto and Budgie deciding at Falls Festival to give music a shot, because, well, working life sucks. Since then they released their first CD., and have just returned from a East Coast tour.
The Young Art have grown from humble beginnings four years ago to one of the regions hottest young acts. The band has been busy recording 13 new tracks in the studio with engineer/producer Mark Myers (The Middle East, Emma Louise) recording their debut album with special guests Emma Louise, Kahl Wallace (The Medics), The Mcmenimans, Mark Myers (The Middle East) and Mitchel Cave.
Grim Tilla is a one-man garage soul, psychedelic blues, jam explosion rolling out of the turgid streets of West End. Lead by the guitar slinging smokey voiced Grim Tilla (ex face melting guitarman from Laneous and the Family Yah) Grim pins down grooves then take them beyond beyond.
Black Friday continues his journey down hell’s highway with a sermon of gothic murder blues, Black Friday draws from deep north crime stories to produce gritty murder blues and roots music that sends shivers up the spine.
