The first ever “Local Version” comes to Townsville in March 2016.

Local Version – the Townsville equivalent to Like A Version ( Triple J) will take place at The Loona Lounge, Commonwealth Hotel South Townsville starting on the 8th of April and going until the end of May. In a very cool twist, local original artists will get to do covers of other local original artists.

The event will bring many of the Townsville Local performers to the stage to bring awareness to other local original musicians and their work. Promoters are hoping the event will run annually and cultivate admiration, respect and camaraderie within the already close Music Community and provide quality entertainment for the general community.

Event Organisers LUnE Promotions spokesperson, Christo says the Loona Lounge was chosen for it’s ability to put on a show, and to provide a fantastic,comfortable, eclectic outdoor location, with great sound, for those attending the event. Having not visited the Luna lounge before, I asked Christo what the Luna Lounge is all about “Basically we transform a Nth Qld Beer Garden into an outdoor lounge” he explained.

Local artists who have expressed interest in performing are, Twisted Whisker, Jacob Long, The Dirty Cameron, Steve and the Lion, The Koffin Rockers, Catalyst Court, Tony, Fools Gold (Pictured), The Chit Chats, Fiona and the Sweepers. Registration opens up on the 4th of March.
