Hurricane Fall

Reef Stampede – Hurricane Fall

The annual Reef Stampede is back in July for a massive two nights and The Reef Hotel Casino is gearing up for a bigger and better hoedown than ever before. The official partnership with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) has previously seen some of the best country performers grace the music stage at the Casino, getting toes a tapping and the party starting during the PBR North Queensland events. The 2017 return of the Reef Stampede promises to be country extravaganza featuring national touring artists Hurricane Fall and some of the best local artists.

For PBR fans, there will be a special, exclusive meet-and-greet with the cowboys of the PBR. This is a chance to meet the bull riding heroes and join in with the party. The Reef Stampede in 2016 was a jam-packed weekend of entertainment for PBR and music lovers alike. The Casino complex was swamped with country music fans, from the cruisy afternoon hoedown, to the continued party into the early hours.

Hurricane Fall are the cool dudes of country music. With their rock edge country sound, the Tamworth-born-and-raised and Newcastle-based outfit smashed their way onto the country music charts with the release of their debut self-titled EP in 2016, searing their way onto the iTunes Country Music Chart at #2. They’ve already been turning heads with their live shows, having supported local favourite Troy Kemp around the traps, as well as Canadian country luminary Codie Prevost at his 2015 Tamworth Country Music Festival shows. They have a sound that is hard to define, it is raw with talent and hard work.

Hurricane Fall’s website defines their sound as ‘underpinned by the band’s captivating style, which effortlessly recalls the heaving band-rooms, carpets wet with spilled beer, and exposed brick walls plastered with peeling posters that are hallmarks of Australia’s eternal pub-and-classic rock tradition’. It is an apt description – Hurricane Fall would be as at home in the classic old, school pub rock venue as they would be on the country festival stage. They’ve effortlessly combined the two genres creating a unique sound, driven by its two lead singers – Jesse Vee and Pepper Deroy. There is something special about Hurricane Fall and the best way to catch this band is to see them in their natural habitat – live on stage!

The Reef Stampede is held across Friday 7th and Saturday 8th July 2017, kicking off from 7pm and 9pm respectively. There is live music throughout the Casino complex nightly, including prizes and giveaways. Entertainment continues late each night with the Big Noize Cowboyz.
