Savannah In The Round Doubles Down

Savanah In The Round hits Kerribee Park Rodeo Grounds in Mareeba this weekend 1 – 3 Oct. The lineup has been rejigged to counter cancelations from interstate acts no longer able to attend and includes a slew of local artists. New artists added to the event are:-

John Butler, Sheppard, San Cisco, Ian Moss, Sneaky Sound System, Adam Brand, Sara Storer, Russell Morris & Brian Cadd, Glenn Shorrock, Beccy Cole, Caitlyn Shadbolt, Little Steely Brothers, Brad Butcher, Hinterland, James Johnston, Josh Setterfield, Julian James, Hussy Hicks, Hillbilly Goats, Roz Pappalardo, Aurelle Brunjes, Robert Cini, Al Boulton Band and Talitha Jae.

Festival Director James Dein said while he was “absolutely gutted” to lose top quality acts including Lime Cordiale, Tex Perkins, Shannon Noll, The McClymonts, Fanny Lumsden and 15 others (full list below) who are now unable to travel due to various southern COVID hotspots, he and the Sound Australia team have worked tirelessly and made bold choices to revamp and broaden the program, ensuring the show WILL go on.

Thankfully we live in a country that’s rich with musical talent from end to end. Something we would never do is compromise the quality of the event we’re delivering for the Tropical North, so rest assured the 20 plus new artists we’re welcoming to the event today will make for an incredible celebration of music – something we all need now more than ever”, said Festival Director James Dein.

Joining the new additions are previously announced legends and chart-toppers John Williamson, Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, Graeme Connors, Busby Marou, The Wolfe Brothers, Brad Cox, Casey Barnes, and many others.

“We look forward to welcoming many of the artists who can’t make it this year to Savannah in the Round 2022, and while they’ll be sorely missed at the inaugural event, we’re delighted to have these new acts who are certain to help us deliver an event worthy of our passionate and dedicated audience. That audience has been patiently waiting for a festival this for over two years now, and the understanding and support they’ve shown us is very special and greatly appreciated”, said Festival Director James Dein.
