Crossroads – One Foot

Townsville’s very own Roots/Reggae/Rock giants Crossroads have recently released their new single ‘One Foot’ too much applause from their adoring NQ fan base. Their first release since 2014’s ‘An Album’. One Foot caps off a massive year for the high energy 4 piece after appearances at Palm Creek and Rock This Country Blue Festivals.

Recorded at The Rec Room with engineer Luke Green at the helm, I sat down with the band members of Crossroads to have a chat about ‘One Foot’.

“It’s a one off single at the moment. We are planning at this stage to release more singles next year and do another album after that” said drummer Dylan Howells.

The clip features a host of guests from all walks of life, all participating in the song by singing and dancing, some even showing off some impressive air guitar moves.

“The inspiration came from the lyrics. The song is about putting one foot in front of the other no matter what. Just keep moving forward. And we thought because everyone knows this struggle it would be good to have different people sing the lyrics with us. One story many faces, one meaning many ways, but always one foot for all of us.” said lead singer Ilona Bienkiewicz

The band will also feature at the upcoming TMPAS event with free hard copies of the One Foot single to be given away on the night.

“We’ve got a Christmas show coming up on the 9th of December at The Old Courthouse Theatre in Townsville. This place has shaped us, as we used to play there a lot in the early days. The band formed there after Dylan and myself met there right on stage in a jam. We absolutely love the Courthouse and the people behind it, so we thought it’s time to support and be supported again. It’s a free event and yes because we love our people and also love presents, we will give away 50 copies of the single on the night. It’s our last show of this epic year and we want to finish 2016 with a boom!” said Ilona Bienkiewicz
