Speaking about the song, Jelly said “Getting Better originated from practising my Do Re Me’s (scales) and became a melody that I decided to put lyrics to. The song is about being okay with change… I liked the premise of a song about deciding to improve rather than saying you already have”.

“Getting Better” was produced by Stephen “DubKlaat” Maxwell, mixed by Philip McFarlane and mastered by Grammy award nominee Chris Athens.

Raised on the festival circuit in Far North Queensland and mentored by reggae roots band Katchafire, Jelly Oshen (pronounced ocean) developed his musical flare early on and later his love of songwriting. With PNG/African/Chinese/Ambon-Indo and Russian blood flowing through his veins, Jelly is a multi-cultural cocktail with a vibe that lifts the spirit.

A lyricist by the age of 8 and a multi-instrumentalist by the age 12, Jelly found his singer songwriter calling at 14 and has an ocean of material in the bank. If you want to understand Jelly Oshen think of Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars meeting up with Frank Ocean and add a little island flava.

Jelly is currently lockdown with producer DubKlaat working on his debut album and plans to preview more tracks real soon!
