Northlane 2022

Northlane – Obsidian

Australian heavy trailblazers Northlane are taking their #1 album, Obsidian, on tour through regional Australia in November and December. Kicking off in Wagga Wagga and winding up in Hobart, the run also includes a stop in Western Sydney – their first hometown show in a decade!

Award-winning heavy trailblazers Northlane are taking their #1 album, Obsidian, on tour through regional Australia in Nov/Dec. The tour reaches Tanks Arts Centre on December 4 with local support from Forest.

The regional tour is set to cap off a stellar 2022 for Northlane. Earlier this year, the band released their acclaimed new album, Obsidian, which topped the ARIA Chart and has been streamed over 22 million times and climbing on Spotify. A bleak and anxiety riddled album reflecting the state of the world it was written in, Obsidian stands at the apex of the Northlane sound with their signature heavy groove sitting in perfect harmony with techno, drum & bass, intriguing synths, perplexing time signatures and widescreen choruses. This fusion of metal and electronic music lent itself to some of the most mind-blowingly spectacular shows Australian metro venues have seen in recent times.

In a bid to support music at the grassroots level in regional Australia, Northlane put out a call for submissions for local bands to open the show at each stop. Northlane were inundated with over 120 submissions from the next generation of young bands. Joining them in Cairns is Forest

Northlane are a chart topping, award-winning metal band from Sydney. Through fearless evolution and unmatched innovation, Northlane are vanguards of heavy music across the globe. The band’s critically acclaimed sixth record, Obsidian (2022), debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Chart – their second #1 and fourth Top #3 album overall. They have also won three consecutive ARIA Awards for Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album as well as an AIR Award for Best Independent Heavy Album.
