Yuill Scott made a big impression on the Resonate crowd when he made his debut last week, Rest assured he will be back. He already scored himself an interview on Irene Barretts Rock & Blues radio show from the gig.
This week we have the welcome return of Emmaline to Resonate when she plays the 3pm set, it’s been quite while since Emmaline played and we look forward to seeing her perform again. A rhythmical and lyrical songstress, Emmaline emanates a passionate, and positive roots experience. With uplifting, groove laden acoustic music. Drawing from her diverse skills, 20 years experience as an in-demand drummer/percussionist and dancer, and her Maori heritage. Since emerging from behind the drums to front the audience, her deep, playful style and flow of poetry has merged with guitar & vocals and her original conscious, compassionate lyrics embrace & celebrate life. The more observant local may remember Emmaline from when she played drums for 90s Pub Rock outfit Black Label!
Ray Danes will be playing the 4pm set this week. The son of a singer and pianist, Ray inherited his mother’s ear for a tune and is a natural performer with a gift for narrative. Though it’s early days in his career, Ray was spotted by Ritzland Records, who promptly offered to put his music out to a wider audience and offer him management services. He has supported Ash Grunwald at the Tanks Arts Centre in Cairns and won a slot at The Tablelands Folk Festival where he recorded a “Van Jam” film clip. In July 2014, he launched his debut single ‘Falling’ at The Grace Darling Hotel in Melbourne with a sixpiece band performing all the tracks from his new album ‘In Fear’.
Ray’s music is a modern take on the folk rock genre that has a unique and often haunting feel of its own. Through it all, Ray’s pure and easy tone effortlessly delivers the stories and experiences that matter to him.
Lyle and Dylan from Machine will be funking your afternoon up when they play a Duo set. The boys recently got back from a very successful east coast tour and we see big things ahead for these lads, don’t miss em!
