The Far North’s longest running all original music gig returns August 20th to the Grand Hotel. The Weekly music event will run 3pm – 6pm every Sunday at the Grand Hotel in Cairns. After the success of Resonate on Sunday afternoons at the Courthouse Hotel, The new Grand management (which as it happens is the old Courthouse Hotel management from before it was acquired by the Council!) is welcoming original live music back into your Sunday schedule.
Resonate will run for 2 weeks from Sunday the 20th of August then take a brief hiatus for 3 weeks while a pre booked band competition is run, Then Resonate will return on a permanent basis every Sunday from 3pm on the outside deck of the Grand.
The first lineup will be announced soon.
Resonate is NOT an open mic night – far from it. All acts playing at Resonate are carefully screened to ensure that the Resonate crowd only get to witness the best local and touring original singer songwriters that North QLD has to offer. The sound is mixed by a seasoned industry proffesional to ensure acts are presented at their best. All acts playing at Resonate are paid to ensure the iconic weekly gig attracts the best acts and quality control is maintained.
Resonate has become a local institution with Dan Sultan, Emma Louise, Danny Ross, Steve Towson and many more having all played Resonate early in their careers. The weekly event has always been a popular hangout for both musicians and music lovers.
Staged by NQ Music Press owners Pandamonium Records, Resonate started back in 2003 at the Courthouse hotel and has bounced between The Grand Hotel and The Courthouse several times over the years with various changes of management.
