Filmed by Glenn Saggers from Threadless Films, the clip was shot in half a day with Katie herself coming with the overall concept.
“The central theme of the clip is love. It’s a song that I wrote about unrequited love or a lover lost. Part of it was once written about having feelings for someone out of reach. Also it’s about my grandfather, who was lost at sea many years ago, and how my grandmother felt while she waited to hear if he was still alive, which unfortunately he wasn’t. It’s the kind of song that means different things to different people.” said Katie Jay
Having packed McGintys to the absoulete rafters for her album launch, many who attended the event rated the evening as one of the best local launches in memeory.
“The launch was amazing. It was definitely packed and people did have to queue up to get in as the night rolled on. I was very grateful to have such a lush list of supporting acts, by the time Leanne Tennant was on stage everyone was super excited. It was a special performance for me because I had the boys from The Code as well as Phil Tsilemanis on harp and Brealyn Sheehan on backup vocals and trumpet. Everyone worked so hard to make my songs come to life and I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.”
“McGintys were fantastic to us and looked after everyone so well, it’s a great venue with such a special atmosphere.”
Never one to stop, Katie is currently working on new ideas aswell as a future release for her band ‘The Code’.
“I have ideas for two more videos so I am hoping at least one more song from the album will get a clip this year. As part of The Code we have written enough to record and release at least an EP and we are aiming to get that together soon. I’d imagine that you’ll hear some of that being released this year too”.
