Resonate – Tim Wright, Ray Danes, Roscoe Lee Brown

Anyone unfortunate enough to miss last weeks Resonate with Thando Sikwila’s stunning performance at last week’s Resonate really missed out. They say the definition of madness is repeating the same mistakes and expecting a different outcome, so don’t make the same mistake twice, and make sure you catch the stellar lineup of talent at this week’s Resonate.

Whether you know Tim Wright from his days with early 2000’s indie rock outfit “Function” or his recent work fronting King Pig, or his job as affable presenter for Balcony TV, there is no denying Tim’s song crafting abilities. Tim will be playing the 7.00pm slot at this weeks Resonate fresh back from a sojourn down south.

Ray Danes plays the 8.20 slot this week. Ray is one of those performers that just seems to get better each time you see him play. He is developing some very interesting guitar techniques and his original songs are hits just waiting to happen.

Playing the 9.30 slot this week is the enigmatic Roscoe Lee Brown (Pictured). Roscoe Lee Browne ran away from the church 20 years ago and took up the Blues. He toured the Delta for years as Little Rayo with his Uncle Sunshine and has been on the road ever since, preaching the gospel of love. Now the former Reverend is really free, he don’t need no gasoline to run. “They say I have been an unreliable lover and friend. These here Blues is the debt I owe. They is the price, I know, for the hurt inside. Down there deep in the silence. Under appearances. When you think all love, all trust, all joy, impossible, you will find the Blues. You gotsa to keep a pure heart and love yourself.”

Resonate is staged every Thursday night at the Grand Hotel in Cairns. Kitchen opens at 6.00, Resonate blasts off at 7.00pm and entry is free!
