For the third coming of Rumble in the Jungle on Saturday May 21st, the organisers KSP productions and The Billabong Kuranda have upped the ante by scouring the whole of Queensland to provide what they are claiming to be the heaviest rumble line up yet, and we have no reason to doubt them!
Brisbane metal merchants Chronolyth have become the first Rumble act from outside of the local music scene, and will perform on the back of their new CD, Atrophy, as part of their Australian tour. With 2 Australian headlining tours under their belt (Bitter Reflection Tour 2013, Sovereignty Australian Tour 2014), the band have taken to the road for extended periods of time. Launching them into worldwide recognition, the band would share the stage with renown acts such as Alice In Chains, DevilDriver, Gojira, Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, A Day To Remember, Suicide Silence, Testament, At The Gates, Gloryhammer, Adept and appear at Australia’s largest alternative music showcase Soundwave Festival in 2014.
Joining them will be A.M.P from Rockhampton and Wishing Well and Ghosts of Black River from Townsville as well as Odius (check out our interview with Odius) and Salacious from Cairns.
Nestled among the rainforest, Rumble in the Jungle provides an unrivalled musical landscape with an outdoor stage and scenic surroundings, with plenty of camping and parking available. With a fully licenced bar and amenities, the isolated location provides the perfect backdrop to the metal assault.
Travel Beats Cairns are also offering transport at competitive prices to take the hassle of driving out of your hands. Kris and Thomas, and the crew at The Billabong will make sure you have a musical experience unrivalled in the modern musical society.
Entry fee is $20 which includes overnight camping, with a 2 a.m licence ensuring you can mosh out until well after midnight.
