Cairns based HANDLES will be taking their brand spanking new single, “The Hardest Part is You Were Cool” on the road next month. Following their no. 1 hit on Triple J Unearthed, “Selfish Lover”, the 5 piece FNQ outfit will be hoping for similar success. They are playing intimate shows in Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and Burleigh with some awesome supports locked in.
Handles Andrew Martin explains about the song title “The song goes into a story about one of the members of the band. He had fallen for a girl and everything was going so well. Out of the blue, he received a message saying that she didn’t want it. It highlights the torment but also, at the same time, how he still respects what they had. The thing that made it harder was that nothing bad had happened and he thought she was a really awesome girl. Hence, “The Hardest Part is You Were Cool”. The song is a 3 minute belter with a multi layered last chorus which I’m sure will be stuck in your head”
The tour kicks off in Cairns on the 8th of March at Macalister Brewing Company. The support artists for this show are local artist Maggie Slater and Late November from Townsville. Tickets are already selling quite fast for this.
The second show is in Townsville at The Office right in the hussle and bussle of Townsville and Late November will be supporting Handles here as well.
Next, The guys take the live show down to Burleigh where we are bringing along FNQ mates, MACHINE MACHINE as support, as well as gold coast locals, NSK.
They finish the tour in Andy’s (lead singer) home town of Brisbane with another group of mates from up north, Oh Forest Shore and also, local Brissy artist, Jack Botts as supports
