Whether you are looking to buy a musical instrument or hire a P.A system, Pacific Music on Mulgrave Road has become well known for offering knowledgable friendly advice from a team of experienced professionals.

Owned and operated by husband and wife team of Mark  Viv Williams, Pacific Music has forged a reputation as a well stocked music shop with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Local top gun muso’s Jonathan Barbagallo and Ian Lewerissa are also on staff offering expert advice on drums and guitars respectively.

Mark Williams made the move up to Cairns back in the 80s after playing bass in several succsesful Sydney bands. I  first met Mark  1980s when he was working as the P.A hire guy at Fernandez Music (The old P.A shed at Fernandez is now a Mexican restaurant!).  He has since worked his way up in the business to own his own shop, and become a serious force on the local music shop scene.

Guitarists will no doubt have their eyes drawn to the back of the shop, where you will see one of the most comprehensive displays of Taylor guitars around. Taylor Guitars is an American guitar manufacturer based in El Cajon, California, specialising in acoustic guitars, as well as semi-hollow electric guitars. It was established in 1974 by Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug, and are regarded as one of the finest acoustic guitars money can buy. Mark Williams has had training with Taylor on the repair and maintenance of the instruments and tells me he will soon be qualified to do more advanced repair work.

Along with their extensive guitar range, Pacific Music also has a great range of keyboards, wind instruments, P.A and accessories.
