Phat Love – Tradie

Phat Love’s first official release, ‘Tradie’ is an upbeat, fun ode to Australia’s tradesman as well as a confirmation that every occupation has its pros and cons. A Hip Hop track with a strong punk influence, the hard-hitting guitar, bass and drums will reverberate through, while the lyrics resonate with you.  A perfect example of the fun side of songwriting and recording as well as a nice, light taste of what Phat Love has to offer.

Phat Love has been playing locally for several years now, performing festivals, venues and events around the Far North and supporting some big name Australian Hip Hop artists. Finally back on track (or at least on A track) after the pandemic brought our industry to its knees, expect big things from these guys in the way of upcoming shows and events as well as regular releases of new tracks on all streaming services.

Far North born and bred, Phat Love is more than a band, it is a movement and a collective. With each member bringing their own style and influences to the party. They seamlessly blend their large array of instruments and voices across multiple genres. Predominantly considered Funk/Hip-Hop, their music fuses fun and heartfelt rap and rhyme with mind blowing, skilfully presented instrumentals intertwined with soulful female vocals. The group continues to grow quite the loyal following, performing festivals and headlining shows, organising and setting up local events and even supporting and playing alongside Australian heavyweights such as Mau Power, Resin Dogs, Lil Mase and Drapht. A performance not to be missed, their mind stimulating show will have you laughing, dancing, hugging your neighbor and singing along. The name says it all. A big Phat Love for everyone.

Tradie will be available on all streaming platforms on 15th December and you can get a preview on FNQ Originals on Cairns FM 89.1 this Sunday night.

Phat Love will also be playing the Panda Room Big Night Out gig on Sat 16th December, along with Hoolia, Joker Pokers, Carinda Christie Band, and The Brazilians, and will of course be playing their new track ‘Tradie’.
