Tanks Unplugged – MACHINE MACHINE, The Taste and Megan McDowall

The Tanks Unplugged series showcases the best of live and local music from far north Queensland for an uplifting night of raw, home-grown entertainment, with the next instalment being staged at the Tanks on the 17th of November.

Next month you can catch MACHINE MACHINE, The Taste and Megan McDowall.

With equal parts youthful raucous energy and mind-blowing musical experimentation, MACHINE MACHINE are genre-bending freaks from the jungle of North Queensland; locked and loaded to musically knock your teeth out – and kiss you on the cheek afterwards.

This four piece band has been jamming and writing original songs since high school, and has forged a name for themselves ever since, playing at festivals across Queensland including the Grass is Greener Festival, Yungaburra Folk Festival and Airlie Beach Festival.

The Taste have been thrilling audiences with a buffet of influences ranging from funk, rock, soul and hip-hop for the past 3 years, rapidly building a following along the East Coast and across NQ.

Combing groovy rhythms with soulful hooks, The Taste is a seven-piece collective that have built a strong reputation as tropical Hip Hop pioneers, having supported Tiki Taane, Saskwatch, Bullhorn, Kalidad, Siskin River, Zennith, Jeff Lang, Tijuana Cartel, King Social and many more.

Young singer songwriter Megan McDowall’s performance will leave audiences spellbound by her honeyed tones and impassioned piano compositions.

Now 17, Megan began writing her own songs at the age of 15 first which culminated to an appearance on Balcony TV in the same year.

Boasting a truly “beautiful voice” (Cairns Voice Studio Director Keesha Mclean), Megan is making waves in 2017, having recently performed at this year’s Port Douglas Carnival on Rex Smeal Stage.
