Michael Franti & Spearhead – Soulrockers

Michael Franti and his band Spearhead return to the tropics in a few short weeks to play two shows; one sold out and the other with just a handful of tickets remaining.

It took just one weekend for the March 29 show to sell-out, prompting a second and final show which is 30 tickets shy of selling out.

Selling out shows at Tanks is becoming a trademark for Franti & Spearhead with their last visit to the iconic venue in 2015 playing host to three sold out shows; a highlight of the year for many in the far north region who attended.

The March 2018 shows at Tanks are part of the official Bluesfest Touring sideshows, and Cairns is in for a treat as Franti & Spearhead won’t be doing any other sideshows in the country.

Fans will be introduced to Michael Franti & Spearhead’s ninth studio album SOULROCKER; an album that sees a new sensibility to their potent hybrid of hip-hop, rock, folk, and reggae.

The result is a gracefully arranged take on electronic music that more than fulfils the band’s mission of making impassioned music you can dance to.

Franti believes in music as a vehicle for positive change and giving back has always been at the heart of his mission.
He has dedicated his life to spreading the joy of music and positivity to millions of people.
In 2013 Michael and his wife Sara founded Do It For The Love Foundation to grant live concert music wishes to people living with life-threatening illnesses, children with severe challenges and wounded veterans throughout North America.
