Hot off the heels of their latest single ‘Sunday Funk’, tropical hip hop ensemble The Taste dropped into Balcony TV at The Billabong in Kuranda recently to record a tasty live version of their new track ‘Take Over’.
Check it out below:
Taken from The Taste upcoming album ‘Convalesce’ set for release on September 13, the band are set to embark on an East Coast tour performing at Brisbane Festival and Nimbin Roots Festival as well as shows in the Sunshine Coast, Fortitude Valley and Bryon Bay. Before returning home for performances at Wallaby Creek Festival and Reef Feast.
Speaking to ‘Take Over’ songwriter and saxophonist Liam White, he explained to me how the song started out.
“Originally I had a much different version of it in my head to begin with and the demo was quite different. We stated jamming it out and from there it really started to evolve. Allowing everyone in the band to have their own input really enhanced the track and made it sound much more original”.
Known for his showmanship and entertaining flare, White’s influence is a definite standout throughout the track.
“I live for songs which have a real momentum and uplifting effect which makes people have no option but to get up and dance. My inspiration was to make a song which everyone could just really enjoy and let loose to”
