Once again the Tanks looks set to delight Jazz lovers with an awesome lineup of Jazz artists touring in 2015.

The 2015 line-up includes giants of the scene, including perennial favourite, PAUL GRABOWSKY; the MASTERS OF JAZZ, with legends including Bob Barnard, John Morrison & Carol Ralph; exquisite duo MONIQUE DIMATTINA & JAMES SHERLOCK; “new jazz” leaders, THE CATHOLICS; PALIMPSEST featuring Tyrone Noonan from George; the vivacious MONICA TRAPAGA; and Finnish pianist, IIRO RANTALA.

As a thank you to all their faithful subscribers each year, the Tanks will continue to offer a $100 discount on the entire series – that’s 7 shows for the price 4 – a MUST-HAVE for lovers of contemporary jazz. This all-star brass and rhythm sextet brings a musical language developed over twenty years to the Tanks for an unforgettable night of jazz.

He’s been an international jazz pianist, a TV celebrity, Festival Director, and founder of the Australian Art Orchestra. Now Paul Grabowsky teams up with a who’s who of Australian jazz for a new suite of pieces that has the critics raving. Winner of the 2014 ARIA award for best jazz album, the ‘Bitter Suite’ marks a new direction in ensemble writing for this celebrated musician, featuring alto and tenor saxophones, trombone, bass and drums.

These pieces are often groove-based, lyrical, dramatic and infused with humour, combining such diverse influences as Brahms and reggae. Don’t miss this celebration of jazz in all its forms.

By the time Monica Trapaga became a loveable face on ABC TV’s Play School, she was already a veteran of the glamorous world of jazz, cabaret and swing. Having teamed up with her brother, Ignatius Jones, for the 1940s-inspired show ‘Pardon Me Boys’, Monica has shown that she knows all about entertaining the grown-ups too! Expect a night of swingin’ style, as Monica draws on her years as ‘Monica and the Moochers’, celebrating all her favourite artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra and Pearl Bailey.
