Amber Farnan – Muse

Cairns indie-Pop singer-songwriter, Amber Farnan, crafts songs of raw emotion with euphoric, luminous textures and timbres, weaving a tapestry of graphic and compelling lyrics. Her high powered vocals and universal songwriting style have come together with the release of her newest single, “Muse,” out now on all streaming platforms.

The song was recorded at Mountain Kauri Studios in the Atherton Tablelands, Danbulah by Mark Myers (The Middle East), with mixing by Mark and mastering by William Bowden (King Willys Sound). Amber performed vocals and guitar and composer/drummer Tristan Barton tracked the drums.

“Twelve-year-old Amber promised herself that she would never write a love song. Nineteen-year-old Amber finally caved.

“Muse was written around the notion of being inspired by someone, with them ultimately being your source of inspiration towards creativity as an artist. Whether its poetry, art, theatre or dance, both modern and historic art forms utilise muses as their inspiration,” Amber says.

“I would like for listeners to be able to relate to the song in some way, whether that be through shared experience or through hopes and dreams. I think that ‘Muse’ has a universal feeling of relatability and no matter who you are, I am damn sure you have dreamed about someone falling in love with you before.”

Amber is building a name for herself in the musical realm, having won a Queensland Music Award in 2021 for her song “Over & Out,” following placing as a finalist in 2018 and highly commended in 2020. Other accolades include having performed an original song with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, playing support for Jaguar Jonze, cowriting a song for Music Count Us In with Jack River and John Foreman, earning a spot in 2018 as one of the Big Sky Girls, performing national music festivals like Nannup Music Festival and Airlie Beach Festival of Music, being a finalist for three years running, from 2019-2021, in the Listen Up Music competiton, and receiving a Regional Arts Grant (RADF).

The future looks bright for this talented, and wise beyond her years, singer-songwriter!
