Helloooo Ladies. It’s ladies night again at Resonate this week and we have 3 mega talented ladies performing their original music for you.
First up is Katie Jay. Whether it’s performing live with her band the Code, as one half of the McCormacks duo with partner Tim Wright, or playing lead role in the theatrical version of “Legally Blonde” most Cairns Folk would be familiar with Katie’s awesome vocal abilitys. Katie’s set kicks off at 7.00pm, don’t miss it!
Playing the 8.20 is Greta Stanley. With sultry vocals and a captivating style, up-and-coming singer songwriter Greta Stanley has pulled together six premium tracks for her debut EP Bedroom City. It’s hard to believe the Far North Queensland-based songstress is only 20-years-old, her songwriting nuance belies her age, instead you could be forgiven for thinking these tracks had been penned by an older soul, someone who has lived far beyond Greta’s two decades of life experience. It is this – the stories of love and loss that so aptly describe different states of existence – mixed with her tight sound and stunning vocals, that will stand Greta apart from her contemporaries. Her early tracks have already built this impressive musician a stellar profile on the Queensland music scene and anticipated release of her debut EP will certainly solidify this position.
New to Resonate, but certainly not the NQ music Scene is Shirley Lynn playing the 9.30 slot. Shirley has been playing in and around Cairns and beyond at venues and events always sharing a joy of music. Shirl launched her debut EP “It’s About Time” at the end of 2012, her duo Silktones released their debut EP “Liberty” in 2014 and her band Blue Tonic recently filmed for Balcony TV at The Jack Hotel are currently recording an album comprised of songs from the multiple songwriters in the band that will be launched later this year.
Resonate kicks off every Thursday night at 7.00pm, entry is free. The kitchen is open at 6.00pm serving delicious great value meals.
