Known as one of Australia’s leading solo blues guitarists, Adam Hole will be bringing his band to The Billabong in Kuranda as part of the upcoming Rock This Country Blue Festival. Nestled amongst pristine tropical rainforest, the team at Kangventure have assembled a fine line of acts covering the styles of Rock, Country and Blues for what will no doubt be a festival to remember at The Billabong on Saturday 15th October.
Known for his stomping, dirty blues that crosses into rock and roots, Adam Hole’s high energy performances have received rave reviews all across the country with his raunchy slide guitar work leaving jaws hanging. He is a wild man on lap steel guitar and has to be seen to be believed!
Speaking to Adam Hole while he is currently on the massive ‘Back With A Vengeance Tour’, Adam was looking forward to bringing his trio to Kuranda for the Rock This Country Blue Festival in a few weeks.
“Tour has been great so far, we’ve just finished the first weekend. We’re currently in Cairns at the moment then we’ll be heading down to Mackay this week before working our way back up this way for Rock This Country Blue in a couple of weeks. I’ve never played at The Billabong before and I’ve heard it’s a beautiful spot to play at, so I’m really looking forward to the festival.”
A regular to the region over the years, Adam Hole has toured the Far North many times with performances with not only his own band, but also Monster Guitars with Mark Easton and The AHMC Band.
“I’ve been up this way many times. Generally around this time each year I try to visit North Queensland. Generally we always try to do a show in Cairns and Port Douglas, and even The Lion’s Den Hotel near Cooktown. We always love coming up this way and enjoy the warm weather.”
With the tour running deep into the end of November, Adam tells me he still has plans to record a new album at the end of this year.
“Hoping to record later this year, with the aim to release a new album early next year. It’s been a little while since my last album so I’m due for one, so hopefully early next year.”
