Cairns Based band Drewboy and The Sax Addicts have been making some big waves both with their music and their involvement with raising awareness for suicide prevention and positive mental health. Working alongside entities such as QLD Health and the “Livin” Foundation using their music for a very good cause, shedding some light on a touchy subject and breaking down the stigma around depression and speaking up about it.
The band are quite new on the scene but have experienced rapid success with their debut album “Growing Down” having had 2 songs on the top of the Triple J Unearthed overall charts. Their music video was also picked up by U.S music streaming site thecooltv.com with a reach of over 49 Million.
Their upcoming “Positive Vibes Tour” will begin at Airlie Beach on November 23rd, Mooloolaba 25th, Surfers Paradise 26th, Toowoomba 27th, Dalby December 2nd and finishing up in Drewboy’s very own home town of Tara on December 3rd for his parents pub’s 104th Birthday (Tara Commercial Hotel).
They’re basing the tour around spreading “Positive Vibes” by raising money as well as raising awareness for suicide prevention and positive mental health, turning the gig at the new “Taps” venue in Surfers Paradise in to a major fund raiser. This will be an event not to be missed with an entertaining day full of live music from local and interstate musicians, Gold Coast Titans appearances, charity auctions with some AMAZING giveaways and lots more to be announced.
Drewboy and the Sax Addicts Album is now available on all digital interfaces such as iTunes, Pandora, Google play etc. There’s even 3 songs on Triple J Unearthed that you can download for free.
