Kim Churchill – The Bright Night Sessions

Fresh from an extensive international tour, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Kim Churchill has announced a huge 33-date Australian tour titled, The Bright Night Sessions.

Reaching Cairns in May, The Bright Night Sessions are all about connecting with phenomenal music communities throughout Australia that Kim has had the pleasure of contributing to over the years.

Recent performances have seen Kim partner with Yamaha Australia and Undercover Creative to build a solar-powered touring stage allowing him to travel to small towns and communities that don’t have live music venues.

“I think I’ve really come to a realisation about the way the Australian music scene lives and breathes through these communities and whilst playing larger headline shows in cities is still amazing and exciting, I really feel at home and deeply happy hitting small towns,” Churchill explains.

Kim will bring his intimate performance to the world-class Tanks Arts Centre venue on May 23 for an evening of unification and togetherness.

“I want these shows to bring people together over the joy of some gentle music and connection with like-minded people,” Churchill says.

“I’m envisioning candle lights, loads of silly stories and long conversations about life and where we all are within it!”

In a coup for the far north, acclaimed Groote Eylandt musician Emily Wurramara will join Kim exclusively on his north Queensland leg of the tour as the official opening act.

Kim Churchill: The Bright Night Sessions with special guest Emily Wurramara takes place at Tanks Arts Centre on Saturday 23 May 2020.
