Jeanette Wormald has a voice that resonates with the essence of Australia.
Her music and lyrics, recorded over five albums, are inspired by the land’s people, environment and colours. Her fresh, feminine style has won national awards, national and international airplay and national and international acclaim for its celebration of Australia’s colonial and Indigenous heritage.
Jeanette’s evocative, perceptive songs draw on a range of musical styles from lyrical country-folk to shades of jazz and blues. Delivered with a crystal clear voice and powerful and endearing stage presence, she takes her audiences on a journey inland, to share her passion for and understanding of the Australian bush in a way few other women in this country have been able to achieve.
Originally from SA, Jeanette, who is a newspaper journalist by trade, has lived and worked on a broad acre wheat farm, in remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory and more recently she moved to the Wet Tropics of Queensland to call Koah home.
Her life has given her a rich tapestry of experiences from which to draw inspiration.
