Resonate – Ju Ju Moon, Eddie Skiba, Ben Daniel

We take a break from the touring acts this week with a great lineup of local talent playing Resonate this Thursday night at the Grand Hotel. If you are yet to lose your Resonate cherry, why not drop in on Thursday night and see what all the fuss is about?

First up at 7.00 this week is Ju Ju Moon. Hailing from Mission Beach Karen and Ian from Ju Ju Moon used to be regulars at the old Resonate. Their great harmonies, rythmic guitar soaring sax lines, and great original songs are always popular with the Resonate crowd.  They have a few environmentally conscious songs featuring turtles and dolphins and the running joke was that they were my favourite sea food based duo. Don’t miss em, great fun.

Back from his recent CD release gigs for at the Tanks and in Melbourne Eddie Skiba will be playing the 8.20 set this week.

Eddie has just released his new CD “Blend On The Border” and will be playing tracks from that and of course favourites from his back catalogue.

Blend On The Border is the follow-up album to Skiba’s first solo offering Bullet De Bloom. Performing alongside artists such as The Hoodoo Gurus, Diesel, Ian Moss, Colin Hay, Mark Seymour and Dragon, Eddie Skiba and his five piece band have also featured on the Cairns Blues Festival, Mission Evolve Festival, Tablelands Festival, Cairns Festival, Carnival on Collins Festival. – See more at: http://www.nqmusicpress.com/news/new-music/eddie-skiba-blend-on-the-border/

Ben Daniel will be playing the 9.30 set this week. Ben has rapidly made his presence known in Cairns as a unique singer songwriter. With a diverse range of influences ranging between artists such as Jeff Buckley to Smashing pumpkins. Ben brings an eccentric writing style to the table and  promises an enjoyable show. Ben made an impression on the Resonate crowd when he made his Resonate debut about a month ago and we look forward to hearing him again.

Resonate kicks off at 7.00pm every Thursday night at the Grand Hotel in Cairns and entry is free. The Kitchen is open from 6.00pm with delicious great value meals, so why not come in early grab dinner and enjoy the free show?

Oh yeah, Resonate now has it’s own Facebook Page, check it out and like away!
